No you do not need a referral for a private consulation. However, Worker's Compensation, Veteran's Affair and Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) require a referral from a GP.

Yes, you can claim on the spot! However, the amount covered will vary depending upon your level of cover.

The initial session will involve a series of qestions and a number of special tests to reproduce your symptoms in order to identify the cause of the problem. Then your physio will provide specific treatment to address your problem.

Treatment time will vary depending on the injury. Generally, most treatments are approximately 30 minutes.

If you do have any GP reports or scans then it would be helpful if you bring them along with you. Also, bring your health fund card to claim your rebate.

Loose fitting clothes or shorts are preferred to allow access to injuries.
