Sports Physiotherapy

Our physiotherapists begin with a detailed examination aimed at understanding the type and level of sport you play so we can tailor your rehab program accordingly.

The physiotherapy assessment normally includes palpation of the injured region, range of motion and muscle flexibility measurements, special tests and biomechanical video analysis of the injured movement.

We ensure that the management of injury is in line with most up-to-date evidence. Therefore, we use a combination of hands on and active techniques such as sports massage, joint mobilisations, dry needling, taping/strapping, exercise prescription, technique review and education regarding when it is safe to slowly start returning to play.

Common sports injuries we see at our clinics include but are not limited to:

  • Groin, hamstring, calf and quadriceps muscle strains

  • Sprained ankles

  • Shoulder impingement and muscle tears

  • Tennis elbow

  • Lower back, foot and ankle stress fractures

  • Shin splints

  • Sports-related lower back pain

  • Tendonitis

  • Fractures and dislocations
